RK Burt Himalayan Lokta Natural Paper is a textured paper that’s handmade in Nepal.

  • It’s made from the fibres of plants that grow high in the mountains surrounding Kathmandu.
  • The resulting paper has an attractive mottled effect, with natural variations in shade and texture.
  • It’s perfect for many arts and crafts uses, but particularly calligraphy and ink drawing.

We sell three variations of RK Burt Himalayan Lokta Paper, each in sets of 25 sheets of 51cm x 76cm in a natural off-white colour.

26th April 2020 Reviewed by Carolyn Dixon I use this in printmaking, but also in the construction of artists books, sometimes as a collage media, chine colle substrate ( it prints digitally well with no bleed) and, occasionally, as a relief print paper.. its very strong and really takes a hammering so very useful to have around.
