Exhibition: Leap Before You Look
30th Aug 2025
A show of pictures that welcome mistakes; pictures that can begin randomly; pictures that sometimes continue randomly; pictures that celebrate the mundane; pictures that use black as a base to intensify their colours; attention-seeking pictures; pictures that envy children’s art; pictures that are helped by music and pictures that enjoy being nothing other than themselves.
Originally from the Rhondda valley, Kelvin Jenkins has recently moved to Bristol via Oxford. He studied design at Newport College of Art, art teaching at Brighton Polytechnic and fine art at Cyprus Art College. After working as a graphic designer for Oxfam for many years he has more recently been working in primary education. Over this period he has developed his own unique visual language which references African and South American textiles, petroglyphs and Neolithic art and also found objects and trivia.
