Oil Paint

With a rich heritage stretching back to the 5th century, oil paints are one of the most easily recognisable of all art mediums. Commonly used oils include linseed oil, poppy seed oil, walnut oil and safflower oil. Previously oil paint took 1 to 3 weeks to dry, but thanks to improvements in emulsifiers as well as other developments, this allows them to be dried in 1 to 3 days. Thanks to the drying time, however, you can paint in layers and ensure that you get a multi-layered painting with plenty of different textures.

If you’re just starting out on your art journey, or are an experienced landscape or portrait oil painter, we’ve got the oil paints and supplies to keep you creating and keep you on your art project design, whether it’s contemporary or traditional. If you’re just starting out, then do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you need recommendations on what oil paints to use as well as how to use them.
