The Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery celebrates the very best in contemporary portraiture and is one of the most important platforms for portrait painters today. The artworks explore the variety of approaches to portraiture, from the classic to the contemporary, and encourage viewers to reflect on the creativity of the artists’ processes.

Visitors to the exhibition can be in with the chance to win a Rembrandt Oil Colour Luxury box Assorted Colours Set, courtesy of Cass Art, and a three-course set menu and drinks for four at Larry’s Bar by voting for their favourite portrait. The National Portrait Gallery is home to world’s greatest collection of portraits. Spanning six centuries, the artworks reveal the inspiring and sometimes surprising personal stories that have shaped and continue to shape a nation - from global icons to local champions, national treasures to unsung heroes, telling the story of Britain through portraits.
