Pocket Pics - Miniature Oil Painting

Have you ever been curious about oil painting but weren’t sure how to begin? Join us for a relaxing, fun filled workshop where you’ll be gently introduced into the timeless art of the oil painting world using the beautiful technique of alla prima (an expressive method were paint is applied wet-on-wet) allowing you to complete your miniature masterpiece in one sitting.

Working on miniature canvases and using a custom paint by number method, you’ll explore the delightful world of miniature painting, allowing you to slow down, channel your focus & express your creativity using a limited colour palette. Guided by workshop tutor Lauren, a self-taught artist and graphic designer who began creating miniature artworks as a way of practicing with oils will help and support you throughout the duration of your stay offering her knowledge, tips and tricks to help you embark on your painting journey.

No matter if you're a beginner wanting to dabble in a new medium, or simply wish to reignite your love of painting, everyone is welcome.

Materials provided: Canvas Boards (10x10cm), Worksheets, Cass Art Oil Paint, Palette Knives, Mixing Palette, Brushes, Liquin (drying medium), Low Odour Brush Cleaner, Paper Towels, Gloves, Aprons. Please wear an old T-shirt as this class will include the use of mineral spirits and oil paints so caution is required to protect your clothing.
