Product Overview

Egg tempera is a semi-opaque, water-soluble, and permanent painting medium perfect for fine art, restoration, and icon painting. Sennelier egg tempera uses premium quality pigments similar to their oil paints, offering vibrant colors. It has a satin-matte finish and is water-resistant when dry. It can be used on non-greasy supports like acrylic-primed canvas or paper and yields delicate colors that maintain brush strokes. Varnished egg tempera paintings resemble oil paintings when finished. Applying a charcoal or pastel fixative before a final oil paint varnish is recommended.
