#StudentSpotlight: London College of Fashion come together to DRAW FASHION

by Cass Art

DRAW FASHION, London College of Fashion's annual fashion illustration competition, is back again this year. Open to all students within the college, judging took place last week and the winners will soon be announced.

The competition celebrates the deeply analytical and emotional skills of drawing and fashion illustration, art forms that individually capture the wonder of the fashioned body. The competition encourages students to explore their design practice through observation, abstract thinking, traditional and digital drawing techniques.

This year, Cass Art is delighted to support DRAW FASHION. The competition will take over our Student Spotlight, with entries featured on our social media channels and blog. We've also promised £1000 prize of art materials for the lucky winner.

Rob Phillips, Creative Director, School of Design & Technology spoke about his passion for drawing. “Through illustration we can move design; personify style, mood, identity and feeling; make a statement; progress traditions and construct new worlds to push fashion forward.”

Mark Cass, CEO of Cass Art, also expressed the importanve of the medium. “We’re delighted to be celebrating the act of drawing with Draw Fashion because drawing really is at the core of all art-making. Here at Cass Art we strive to put a quality pen or pencil in the hands of everyone because we believe that drawing is integral to all the creative disciplines; any mark, line or sketch can be the start of something great.”
