Introducing the Cass Art Liverpool Team

by Cass Art

Hello students of Liverpool! We might not be meeting you all at Freshers Fairs and University events this September, but that doesn't mean we can't bring our team to you. Meet our Cass Art Liverpool team below, including our wonderful store manager Kay - learn about their creative journeys, their speciality knowledge and favourite Cass Art materials.

Our Liverpool art store is located in Liverpool One, and very close to The Bluecoat on School Lane. Liverpool is home to several major art galleries, including Tate Liverpool, Walker Art Gallery and the independent artist-led space The Royal Standard.

With an eclectic and creative history in both art and music, Liverpool has coined the "World Capital City of Pop" after it was the birthplace of The Beatles. The city also hosts the largest international contemporary art festival in the UK: the Liverpool Biennial.

Introducing our Liverpool Store Manager Kay Jagger!

Meet the rest of the Liverpool team!

Millie Toyin Olateju

Creative Journey

I’ve been drawing and making all my life so it was a natural move to pursue Art GCSE, then Art & Design BTEC, and then a BA in Fine Art.  In university I decided to stick to painting and I haven’t looked back since.  I make abstract paintings using acrylic paint, but I’m open to my practice and choice of materials evolving and changing with time.

Product Speciality

Since I am a painter I feel most comfortable around that! Acrylic mostly but I’ve got some experience with spray paint & watercolour.

Favourite Cass Art product

I use the Cass Art Artists' Fixative religiously to protect and set paintings on paper where I have used marker on top. I also love using Poscas and Winsor & Newton Galleria acrylics paint.

Product Speciality

Pens! Any type, but I have a particular love for Poscas and Pentel Brush Pens.

Favourite Cass Art product

I really like Cass Art Acrylics for their consistency and colour intensity.

Creative Journey

I have a degree in Fine Art with a focus on abstract expressionism, inspired by nature, colour, light & motion.  I am also a self-taught illustrator and digital artist on the side.

Product Speciality

Oil and acrylic paints, alcohol markers, paper & surfaces.

Favourite Cass Art product

Cass Art oil paint is the best value for professional quality paint with a genuine pigmentation for cleaner and more vibrant colour mixing. It has a nice blending consistency too!

Product Speciality

Acrylic paintsspray paint, gesso, mediums –everything!

Favourite Cass Art product

Cass Art cartridge paper is a favourite – same quality as professional grade papers for a good price.

Creative Journey

I am an artist/illustrator.  I got my degree in English Literature, then started working at Cass Art 5 years ago and have been an artist ever since!  I sell work mainly of homes and venues as wedding gifts, but I have my own work which is abstract oil paintings on canvas.

Product Speciality

I run acrylic workshops so my knowledge is good in this area, but I use watercolours and oils in my own work so I also have experience with these.

Favourite Cass Art product

I use Cass Art watercolours in my work, and also love Daniel Smith watercolours for the diverse pigment range like the Primatek genuine colours.

Creative Journey

I am a self-taught artist and have been drawing, painting, and crafting for over 30 years.  My work centres around the concept of the wunderkammer: interesting and odd bits of nature, geology, and antiquities; often faked.  My practice includes painting and propmaking.  (Ask me about my “genuine” vampire hunting kit.)

Product Speciality

Acrylic paints and mediums, crafting, model making, pens. Alternative uses for many products as well!

Favourite Cass Art product

I really like Cass Art acrylics – the titanium white gives amazing coverage compared to other paints in this price range. I also use lots of Poscas and spray paints.
