The National Open Art Competition is open for entries!

Cass Art is delighted to partner with the National Open Art Competition 2014 to support all kinds of artists from amateur to professional in their creative pursuits and encourage everyone to enter the UK’s largest open art competition.

Now in its 18th year, competition has a staggering £60,000 prize fund including prizes for Young Artists from Cass Art. Sponsors include Towry, the Wealth Adviser and administration by the Chichester Art Trust, a not for profit charity established in 1995, whose aim is to provide a truly open and fair platform for all UK artists.

Cass Art is also supporting all entrants with an extra gift – enter the competition to find out more!

The panel of judges varies each year, 2014 sees Chris Orr RA, Caroline Irby, Vanessa Branson, Norman Ackroyd RA and David Middleton as the selection of acclaimed artists and sponsors invited to assess the entries. Prizes are awarded for the best emerging artist, best drawing, best installation, best regional artists and many more.

Entrants must live, or be professionally based, in the United Kingdom and may enter no more than 4 artworks. The minimum age is 15 years old with no maximum. Cass Art is thrilled to be supporting younger student artists, with a selection of prizes available to 15-25 year olds with the opportunity to win a year's worth of art supplies, a £300 commission and the chance to learn more about their field by shadowing an exciting artist.

The closing date for entry has been extended to midnight on 20th July 2014, and submission can be done via the National Open Art Competition website.

Exhibitions will be held in venues across London, including the prestigious Somerset House, with a final showcase in Chichester throughout the autumn period. For anyone interested in making, buying or selling art, the National Open Art Competition must be included in your diary this year.
