Bristol Art Club

Bristol Art Club

12th Sep 2025

Having mentored for a year, Ash noticed a desire from artists to share a space regularly - that feeling of passionately wanting to practice our creative outlet, but not being able to make space for it at home. The Bristol Art Club is a weekly drop in, where you and like-minded creatives work on your own project with Ash as a support. Each session begins with a prompt or thought to take on as much or as little as you need. Some weeks, you might continue to work on the same piece, or in one session you might want helping loosening up with an assignment or exercise. Basic materials will be provided for sketching, drawing, and developing ideas, and you can bring in your own materials appropriate for whatever you are working on.

Ash is a full time painter and mentor, working in oils, specialising in portraiture and figurative art. They have also been an illustrator for around a decade, working with acrylic and posca pens. They also make digital illustration, watercolour illustration and work in pencil is part of their daily practice. They believe that everyone is always learning and will never consider themselves a master, or teach that things are to be done in only one way. Members should feel supported and united as they tackle problems together.
