Barry Mitchell, born 1953, Glasgow: 1975 - Diploma in sculpture from Dundee School of Art (D of J). 1977 - Left our small island for adventures on the continental land-mass. 1980 - Worked in Paris as an illustrator for Biba, Marie-Claire, Cosmopolitan & Vogue magazines, and then illustrated extensively for Ad agencies in Paris, Bruxelles & London. 1981/84- Four consecutive solo shows with Galerie Philippe Frégnac (Paris). - also exhibited at Galerie Totem (Brussels), Art Nou Mil·lenni (Barcelona) & Compass Gallery (Glasgow). 2017/23 - Lecturer of Perspective & life drawing at LISAA School of Applied Arts (Paris) 2023 - Moved back to the homeland and now happily working from studio at 20 Queen Street, Stranraer. 2026 - Animating drawing workshops with Cass Art (Glasgow), DAGFAS (Dumfries) and Creative Stranraer. barrymitchellart.com
