Creative lovers will have a treat this week as a group of BA Illustration graduates from Arts University Bournemouth put on the ‘We Made It’ exhibition. Being held in the charming 71A Gallery in Shoreditch, this will be an exciting and innovative show to round off their three years of studying.
There will be a wide range of contemporary illustration on display, including a children's horror novel, a selection of delicious cocktail recipes and a look into what could be lying underneath our cities; as well as packaging design, 3D rope sculptures and much more. Focused on hard work and tenacity, these talented bunch of illustrators work in a range of mediums and sectors of illustration, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Meg James is not only an illustrator, but a writer as well. Creating a short novel in her final year, Meg works predominantly with pencil, dabbling in digital colour every now and then. She creates quirky and detailed illustrations which fit perfectly within the 8-12 childrens sector

Georgie Sturge’s work is strongly figure orientated, inspired by the social situations and relationships people face in everyday life. She will be exhibiting work based upon themes of youth culture and coming of age, seeking to relate with the viewer through emotive and atmospheric scenes.

Illustrator and printmaker Charlotte Tanner has created illustrations exploring the habitat of the Rainforest and the wildlife within, through screen prints and mono prints, which have been put into a book context.

Lauren O'Reilly is an illustrator and paper artist from London. Exhibiting a series of paper cut illustrations and prints advertising a range of cocktails, and cocktail recipies; Lauren's work is vibrant and unique.

Also interested in selling work, there will be an affordable and unique pop up shop at the front of the exhibition, debuting a range of zines, sketchbooks and original prints. There will be something for everyone and they hope you will come away with a fist full of business cards and potentially some hardworking and talented new clients.
'We Made It' will be a colourful, exciting and dynamic show which the BA illustration graduates hope will kickstart their careers in the illustration industry.
