Q&A (4)
Q What are these used for?
A

Mechanical pencils are used for technical drawings and for work where accuracy and precision is required. They do not need sharpening and use lead made to size which is pushed through the body of the pencil to use. This provides a consistent size marking.

Q What size lead shall I go for?
A

This will depend on what you are using the pencil for. Leads are measured by the width of the marking the lead will make. For example, a 0.5mm lead will draw a line that measures 0.5mm thick. Thus, if drawing on a smaller scale, a smaller size lead may be more appropriate. In terms of the grade of the lead, H stands for hard, and B stands for black. A H pencil will offer a lighter marking and a B pencil will offer a darker marking.

Q What material are the leads made of?
A

The leads for these pencils are made from graphite graded from H to B.

Q on the size selection it has 0.3mm but on the image and description it says 0.35mm which one is it?
A

Dear Lara,

The pencil takes 0.35 leads so this is the correct size, we will change this on the web site, sorry for the confusion

27th January 2017 Reviewed by Danielle Smith A lovely mechanical pencil. I'm very happy with my choice. I'm using it to add fine details to some portraits I've been commissioned to do. Very good fine point and the tiny rubber is useful too. Also great for rough work as it can be used very lightly and rubbed out easily.

19th November 2016 Reviewed by James Leonard After being fed up with the standard pencils constantly breaking lead while sharpening, I decided to buy a mechanical pencil and I really enjoy using it. It's high quality and precise, all while keeping a consistent width of line. I would recommend this.
